Ivete Sangalo commented on the impact of a stance by her son Marcelo Cady, who put a video game up for sale to buy a surfboard. In an interview with Fred Desimpedidos’ podcast “Fala, Brasólho” this Tuesday (26), Mainha explained that it was not about money.

In May, the 12yearold announced the sale of his Playstation 4 on Instagram and the case went viral on the internet. “It’s not about money, it’s about choices. Marcelo knows he can have it, but I have to teach him to make decisions. I said, ‘My son, the board or the Playstation? Think,’” the singer commented. The boy chose the video game and won one. Some time later he changed his mind and asked for a surfboard. Then he got a clear answer from his mother. “Well, brother, it’s up to you. Turn around,” said the host of Globo’s Pipoca da Ivete.

“And one more thing, we’re on vacation now and it’s okay, we go to one toy, go to another, ask for clothes, shoes. But the holidays are over, back to routine,” she argued. “On birthdays, Christmas, parties that we created to consume things, it’s alright, it’s alright. but [fora disso] Let’s see if we really need this,” he mused. “These needs have to be deconstructed. And I empowered him to repent. Next time he will make a choice, he will weigh his desires. I believe and have a lot of trust in my son,” he commented.
In the interview, Vaveta took the opportunity to thank Gabriel Medina, who sent the Dreamboard to Marcelo. “Uncles, grandfathers and mentors have a free pass. Dad and mom are different now,” she joked, making a heart shape with her hands for the camera. As well as the boy, Ivete is also mother to Helena and Marina, 4, with Daniel Cady. Watch:
