As established by KOACI, on the night of Thursday, May 19, 2022, a young convict attacked his parents in the village of Yopougon – Kouté.
On that day of the tragedy, the day before the mother’s birthday, who was to celebrate her 50th birthday, she could not have guessed that her son would commit the irreparable.
At around 10:30 p.m., the residents of this village were alarmed by the screams of a lady. At the scene of the crime, they discover the body of a woman lying on the ground in a pool of blood. She had just been fatally beaten unconscious by her son.
According to the testimonies collected, the 29-year-old was under the influence of stimulants.
“We don’t know exactly what happened about his son, but it was screams of tears that got us alarmed. When we arrived the damage was already done, the police of the 16th arrondissement sent it to the police station,” testifies a youth from Yopougon Kouté.
Apparently, elements of the 16th arrondissement police rescued the suspected killer from the clutches of an angry mob intent on lynching him.
An investigation has been launched to determine responsibilities and understand the motive for this heinous crime.
