Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Ivy Queen will receive the Billboard Icon Award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2023, which will be broadcast live on Telemundo on October 5 from the Watsco Center in the city of Coral Gables, neighboring Miami.
“I am very pleased and honored to receive this award. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my music over the years. “I am grateful to my fans for their unwavering support throughout my career and I hope to continue to inspire and empower women through my music for many years to come,” the artist said in a statement.
According to the organization Billboard and Telemundothe Ivy Queen award is due to the fact that she is “an artist whose career has not only remained relevant over time, but has become so the most important artist in her genre, celebrated worldwide for reaching the dome both commercial and musical success.”

With a career spanning 28 years, Ivy Queen started as a member of the collective The noise in San Juan, Puerto Ricobefore launching a solo career in 1996 with the debut of his first studio album “En Mi Imperio”.
Since then, he has released 10 studio albums, four compilation albums, seven EPs, one live album, 94 singles and 63 music videos.
