Iza is interested in showing a new Iza. Both in terms of performance and setlist. She hinted at this during her show at The Town on the Skyline stage this Sunday (10).
With a brand new album (“Afrodhit”) in hand, it was already expected that the singer would diversify her repertoire more and leave behind the same situation she had been in for years. But contrary to what you might think, the selection of songs for the presentation was varied, mainly due to hits by other artists.

There was a medley with Beyoncé’s voice in excerpts from “Flawless”, “Say My Name” and “Cuff It”. A quick look at “Tá Ok” by Kevin O Chris and Dennis DJ and three live and color performances.
MC Carol shared the mic with Iza not only to sing their joint song “Fé nas Malucas” but also to rock the crowd with her 2000’s funko “Meu Namorado é Maior Otário”.
Djonga then starred in one of the series’ most memorable moments. When they finished “Leal,” the phrase “Fire on the racists” swept across the screens aflame to do justice to the command. The scene was applauded by even the most lukewarm part of the show.

Rio’s L7nnon also had room. Alongside Iza, he sang his hit song “Ai Preto,” filling in the vocal gaps of the singer’s praise of sensuality and blackness.
Even with this energy to show off a new face, Iza put on a bolder show than she usually does. From heroic deeds to the mythological concept of Aphrodite that she explores.
The singer entered the stage in a theater costume and wore a long dress the color of her skin. Her stomach and nipples were highlighted with shiny gold pieces. The head was decorated with a large halo.
“I will dedicate myself [esse show] to all women who feel reborn. The brightness may be dazzling, but it does not go out. “We’re back with everything,” the singer said.
It’s hard not to tie the speech to her recent comments about the artist’s abusive relationship with her ex.
Indirectly or not, you can say that it is no longer as in the shadows as it has been lately. Just look at the energy he created in the crowd watching the show.
There was an attempt to impress. And probably it was achieved for those who like hit chains. However, it may have disappointed fans longing for more titles from Iza’s new era.
