Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio will return to the big screen as Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso for the sixth film in the Karate Kid series, due in theaters next year.
The character of Ralph Macchio will therefore be back after being excluded from the last two episodes of Karate Kid.
We were still able to see Daniel LaRusso again in the series Cobra Kai, which will enter its sixth season on Netflix in 2024.
For his part, 69-year-old actor Jackie Chan will pick up where he left off in 2010 when he played Mr. Han; the handyman and karate master who trained a young man, played by Jaden Smith.
Without getting too far ahead of the synopsis for the next Karate Kid release, Sony Pictures announced that the film would be set on the East Coast of the United States.
Looking for actors
In a video posted on Sony Pictures Entertainment’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio announce that they are looking for the next Karate Kid to film alongside them in May and June 2024.
They invite young men aged 15 to 17 of Chinese origin who are fluent in English to visit the website karatekidcasting.com and send them their profile.
