KIIS FM radio star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has revealed she’s recently experienced a terrible scare from cancer.

The 48-year-old was preparing for a photoshoot when she discovered a small lump in one of her breasts.

The Kyle and Jackie O Show star opened up about the chilling ordeal in an emotional interview on Channel 10’s Studio 10 on Monday.

Jackie appeared on the show alongside friend and manager Gemma O’Neill to promote her new Besties app.

Gemma explained that Jackie went to the bathroom during filming and got a fake tan.

“She felt her breasts and said, ‘Yes, I found something,’ Gemma explained.

“We went from highest high to lowest low in 5 minutes.”

Thankfully, Jackie later got the all-clear from doctors when she had a mammogram the day after her frightening discovery.

“Luckily we sent you for a mammogram the next day and everything was fine,” Gemma explained.

Jackie urged viewers not to wait for a mammogram, even if they’re scared of the results.

“A lot of times you don’t want to do that because a lot of people just think the worst and are too scared to see the outcome and it’s terrifying.” It really is … and those few days are like, ‘What if, what would be if,” Jackie said.

“And sometimes you think: ‘I don’t want that today, I’ll take care of that next week’ – and if you keep putting it off, that’s not the solution.

“And it encourages someone to go and check it out, then I think that would lead to that, because as you know, in most cases it’s good news, it’s done.”

“It’s so important to do these checks.”
