Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed that she and Will Smith will “stay together forever” despite their split in 2016.

The Matrix Reloaded actress revealed during the promotional tour for her autobiography Worthy in October that she had been separated from the Men in Black star since 2016. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday (November 28, 23), she confirmed that their relationship was for the long haul. “We stay together forever. I tried. We tried,” she said, apparently referring to their attempts to break up.
The 52-year-old star, who married Will Smith in 1997, previously explained that the 2022 Academy Awards, where actor slapped Chris Rock when he made a joke at his expense, marked a turning point in their marriage. “When I was there with him that night, I knew that maybe I didn’t go there as Will Smith’s wife, but that I went that night as his wife,” she said in an interview with CBS Mornings. During her interview with Drew Barrymore, Jada Pinkett Smith talked about accepting the fact that no person is perfect all the time. “When you truly learn to fully accept yourself, you also learn to fully accept your partner, and that has been a journey in itself,” she shared.
