Jada Pinkett Smith has been hard at work on her new memoir, Worthy, which is due out October 17.

The 51-year-old Red Table Talk host told her 11.4million Instagram followers that preparing meals took effort.

“Not only [writing Worthy] “It’s been emotionally draining, but it’s really technical,” she said on Instagram.

She told her fans that she intends to share behind-the-scenes insights into her writing process in the coming days leading up to the release.

The ‘Girls Trip’ star also shared how thrilled she was to learn she was on the New York Times’ list of most anticipated books for the fall.

She realized she was in good company on the list, as the upcoming memoirs by Kerry Washington, Barbra Streisand, and Britney Spears were also on the list.

“I can’t wait to read [Kerry’s] “Book,” Jada said in the video, also noting that she was excited to buy a copy of Britney and Barbara’s books as well.

Declaring, “We’re all having a good read this fall,” she supported her fellow stars’ literary endeavors while promoting Worthy.

According to People, the Set It Off star began writing Worthy back in December 2021 — long before her husband Will Smith received a controversial slap in the face at the Oscars in February 2022.

“It was just the idea of ​​being willing to take full ownership of my story through and through.” And she does it with grace and love. For myself and for others,” the Maryland-born beauty told the outlet.

Joking that the book felt like “divine advice” that Fela! The music producer added, “I’ve been encouraged by so many people to write a book.”

However, it took the Bad Moms actress some time to accept that her journey was “worthy” of being published in a book, hence the title.

The day before Jada’s memoir hits bookshelves everywhere, a worthy book tour will also begin, beginning in New York City.

The Girls Hold Up This World author added that she also felt inspired to write her own memoir to reclaim her own narrative.

“So many people feel like they know my journey because of my talk show Red Table Talk,” noted the Nutty Professor star.

She added, “There was so much about my journey that I couldn’t really share in a format like Red Table Talk.”

Worthy will be out in bookstores everywhere on October 17, 2023.
