After officially signing with the company on September 26, Jade Cargill made her WWE debut at Fastlane on Saturday.

Cargill rolled up to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in a Chevy Suburban and was immediately greeted by a smiling Triple H, who shook her hand and welcomed her to WWE.

Cargill made her pro wrestling debut with AEW in 2020 and it quickly became clear that the promotion viewed her as a potential big star in the making.

Not only did Cargill team with Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal to defeat Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in their first career match, but he also became the first TBS Champion to hold for over 500 days.

Jade suffered her first loss at Double or Nothing in May, losing to Kris Statlander in an impromptu match, and after taking a few months off, she returned for a rematch in September.

Around the same time, rumors and speculation began to circulate about Cargill’s AEW contract expiring and her interest in WWE.

When Cargill lost to Statlander again on an episode of “Rampage” and they hugged afterward, it seemed clear that the former Jacksonville University basketball star was on his way out of the company.

On September 26th, WWE informed ESPN Marc Raimondi of the signing, and Raimondi made it official with a widely reported report.

That same day, Cargill conducted several interviews discussing the decision to sign with WWE, and WWE posted on social media both a video of her performance at the Performance Center and photos of her training in the ring.

At the time, it wasn’t clear whether Cargill would start in NXT and continue honing her craft or move straight up to the main roster of Raw or SmackDown.

Fans got their answer on Saturday and Cargill is poised to quickly become one of WWE’s top female Superstars.
