Jake Allen: CEOs would have contacted Kent Hughes

For the Montreal Canadiens, the famous three-goalie management could soon be over.

In fact, some teams have recently reached out to general manager Kent Hughes, Pierre LeBrun reported Thursday night.

“Montreal has had some calls from teams over the last few days,” he said on TSN. These teams should come back [prochainement]but that doesn’t necessarily mean a transaction is imminent.”

“I think the Hurricanes are one of the teams that have been in talks with CH recently. The Devils, for their part, had internal discussions about Allen. Martin Brodeur knows him well, having spent some time with him in St. Louis.

The 33-year-old veteran is currently in the penultimate year of a contract that will pay him $3.85 million per season. In 12 games this season, he has a record of 4-6-2, a goals-against average of 3.43 and a save percentage of .904.
