Jake Paul is fighting another former UFC champion for a boxing match – this time it’s Michael Bisping who is being targeted.
Bisping is 43 years old and retired from active competition in 2018. Later that year, he revealed that he was virtually blind in one eye and had cheated his way through medical tests to get a license. “The Count” now wears a prosthetic eye, which he occasionally pulls out to laugh in YouTube videos.
This apparently makes him the perfect opponent for Jake Paul, who is looking for a candidate for the August fight. Other names Paul lists as possible names: Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Anderson Silva and Tommy Fury. But so far, it’s been Bisping that “The Problem Child” has parsed with over social media.
I’d knock you out worse than Hendo. You’re an easy fight. But show me you can get a license and I’ll show you $1M plus PPV… (with that emoji because Bisping can’t use it lololololol) https://t.co/gu0tL9Pn0R

yeah yeah listen One eye, two eyes. I won a world championship and more importantly, the respect of the fighting community. Unfortunately, little Jakey, these are 2 things you will NEVER do. je. Let that sink in. https://t.co/nzhwoEe8MF

This escalated to Paul making an offer to fight…if Bisping can be licensed, of course.
dear @bisping,
I urge you to stop hosting your fighting podcast, get a fighting license and box me.
Let’s see if that UFC belt and all the respect you have can help you beat me in a boxing match. pic.twitter.com/9Bv0bDTK1E

“So Bisping comes up to me on Twitter and says I’ll never win a championship, I’ll never earn the respect of the fighting community,” Paul said in a Twitter video. “Maybe he’s right. Now you can’t pay your rent or mortgage with a championship belt or respect, so I honestly don’t give af-k. Earlier when I cried after he tweeted me I sobbed, I started wiping away my tears with the $50 million I made fighting last year.”
“You know, my last fight by the time round three was over, I made more money than he did in his entire career,” Paul added. “So I understand why he’s mad at the new kid on the block, it’s whatever.”
“Well, Michael, I’m not the type to talk shit without backing it up,” he continued. “So if you can get a license with your one eye and your old ass and all that crazy stuff you’re up to, I’d love to fight you. Let’s see if that championship you’ve won and all the respect you have from the fighting community can really get you through a boxing match with me. Because I bet it can’t. I’ll scream your old ass.”
While Bisping certainly fits a lot of criteria for a Jake Paul fight (old and physically devastated from a long fighting career), the one-eye thing can keep things from coming together. Not only is Bisping blind in one eye, he retired after the vision in his other eye began interfering with his final fight. These are subjects he discussed at length in the notes, there are no more doctors to deceive the commission.
Unless Jake Paul wants to fight this fight in a country in the middle of nowhere with no sanctioning bodies, we don’t see it happening. Then again, with Jake Paul, you never know. Are there helipads in Saudi Arabia in August?
