There is never a dull moment in mixed martial arts (MMA), and the Jorge Masvidal-Colby Covington saga continues to prove it.
Last night (Monday, March 21, 2022), a pair of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contenders got into a bit of a fight outside a steakhouse in Miami, Florida. According to reports, Masvidal hit “Chaos” with a “punch in the snout”, resulting in a broken tooth.” Masvidal was allegedly wearing a surgical mask and a hoodie. Like Covington, the YouTuber-turned-boxer was Gamebred’s former pal before his matchup with former UFC Welterweight Ben Askren. Amazingly, this friendship fell apart, and since then they have had some banter.
Paul — the same man who drove past Dillon Davis with a water balloon and toilet paper — shared his thoughts on Tuesday. (March 22).
“2 Facts of the Day: #1 Masvidal is the bitch who ambushed Colby. Couldn’t hurt him in the cage, so try blinding him?” Paul tweeted.
“#2, the UFC always claims that there has been a 600% increase in fighter wages since 2005. According to Huddle Up, UFC revenue is up 1700% since ’05 and PROFIT is up 6200%. [mind blown emoji] 10x Fighter Pay!!!”
The Masvidal and Covington steakhouse incident comes just weeks after they went head to head in the Octagon at UFC 272 on March 5. path to victory by unanimous decision (see highlights). Only one in three judges scored one out of five rounds in favor of Masvidal, who has now lost three fights in a row since defeating Nathan Diaz in 2019.
