Quarterback Jalen Hurts could miss the Philadelphia Eagles’ next game against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.
Hurts, who is having a very good season, injured his right shoulder in Sunday’s final game against the Chicago Bears.
Taken down by Bears defensive tackle Trevis Gipson, the center suffered a heavy contact and landed hard on his shoulder. After the game, Hurts denied he was injured, despite struggling to get up after contact.
According to ESPN, the 24-year-old athlete is suffering from a sprained shoulder. He shouldn’t be out for too long, and until then, backup center Gardner Minshew will take over.
Hurts is a strong contender for the NFL Most Valuable Player trophy. He threw 22 touchdown passes and had 3,472 passing yards. He’s also very mobile, having streaked 747 yards on land and hitting 13 majors since the start of the season.
