Jalen Hurts Not Included in Eagles Estimated Injury Report Ahead

Jalen Hurts Not Included in Eagles Estimated Injury Report Ahead of Giants Playoff Game – Bleeding Green Nation

The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report Tuesday ahead of their Divisional Round playoff game against the New York Giants.

Note that this report is an estimate as the team conducted a walkthrough rather than a normal exercise.

The big news is that Jalen Hurts wasn’t included in the report at all.

Good sign!

This development does not come as a complete surprise; Nick Sirianni said Hurts would be in for it. Still, this case marks the first time Hurts has not been included in the report since his December 18 shoulder injury. Hurts was listed as restricted in practice leading up to the Week 18 game in which he played.

Other notable players NOT listed are: Josh Sweat and Miles Sanders.

Sweat missed the Eagles game in Week 18 after being carted off the field in Week 17 with a neck injury. Speaking to reporters during bye week, Sweat said he will be playing against the Giants.

Sanders was restricted from a couple of training sessions earlier in the week in the final weeks of the regular season due to a knee problem. It’s a good thing it’s not listed here at all.

The Eagles listed one player as NOT PARTICIPATING: Avonte Maddox.

Maddox seems on track to miss this week’s game. By never putting him on injured reserve, the Eagles seem to have some level of hope that he might be able to play in the NFC Championship Game. Assuming the Eagles make it there.

Since Maddox tends to sit out, the Eagles field CJ Gardner-Johnson as a nickel cornerback when he’s not already putting on safety. Reed Blankenship is scheduled to replace him on the back end when CJGJ moves down to the slot.

The Eagles listed three players under LIMITED ENTRY: Lane Johnson, Linval Joseph and Robert Quinn.

Johnson is expected to play through a serious groin injury. How long he will hold out remains to be seen. No one can doubt Johnson’s resilience, but one can worry that the situation is becoming untenable for him. Jack Driscoll has to be ready to play with the right tackle when Johnson goes out of play.

Joseph’s calf injury is a recent development. He must have picked it up in week 18. The Eagles are likely managing the veteran defensive tackle to get it through Saturday.

Quinn went on injured reserve with a knee area, but he’s now listed with a back problem. Quinn didn’t train at the bye last week. He will probably play this weekend.

NEW YORK GIANTS INJURY REPORT (TUESDAY)

The Giants held a walkthrough on Tuesday since they just played on Sunday.

Jason Pinnock was listed under DNP after being transported and hospitalized during the Giants’ wild card win. Pinnock has played the third most snaps of any Giants safety this season; he was a role player for her. Earlier in the week, he seems on course to miss Saturday’s game.

Giants players listed under limited attendance appear to be good bets for this weekend. Notable from that group is Adoree’ Jackson with a back problem, having previously missed seven games with a knee injury. Azeez Ojulari, who ranks second in sacks with the Giants, appears to have a chance to play despite being thrashed on Sunday.
