Remixes are an integral part of Pitch Perfect films. Anna Kendrick’s Beka brings the weary Barden Bells to life with her own reworking of the original film’s pop hits, and continues this trend throughout the film’s sequels.

As per tradition, Peacock’s Pitch Perfect TV series follows their love of remixes with a few new additions to the cast: future She-Hulk villain Jameela Jameel, Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) and Lera Abova (Anna) join Adam. A spin-off of the trilogy of the original series directed by Devine. Their film roles are reprized by Devine as Bumper Allen and Flula Borg, who returns as Peter Kremer.

The story takes place a few years after the Pitch Perfect films. Bumper Allen from Devine flies to Germany to resurrect his music career as soon as one of his songs becomes a hit in Berlin, with Borg from Kremer helping him as his agent.

Hyland will play Heidi, Borg and Bumper’s fun-loving and slightly quirky American sidekick. But like many assistants in popular media, she has her own dreams! She moonlights as a singer-songwriter at a Berlin cabaret at night, hoping to become a star with her original songs.

Abova will play the sister of Borg, a well-known Berlin DJ and music producer. Under the extreme DJ name DJ Das Boot, she performs at clubs across the city and is described as “as cool as Berlin in December”.

Nothing says more about the perfect voice than the character Jamila Gisela, a pompous and flamboyant up-and-coming German pop star. Borg’s ex-girlfriend, she becomes Bumper’s main rival at the German Unity Day concert. She will stop at nothing to defeat him (pointing to a “Sing to me Paolo!” moment in the series we’re looking forward to).

Megan Amram is serving as writer and showrunner, reuniting her and Jameela Jameel from their days in The Good Place. Amram will also executive produce along with Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman of the film trilogy, Paul Brooks, Scott Nijmeyer and Devine. The series will be produced by Universal Television.

Harmonizers will soon start shooting the film in Berlin, Germany, but there is no release date yet. In the meantime, test your vocal knots and practice these warm-up exercises until they start streaming on Peacock.
