James Kottak, drummer of the German band Scorpions, died this Tuesday (9) at the age of 61. The information was confirmed by the musician's daughter, Tobi, to the website TMZ. The cause of death was not revealed.

Kottak was born in Louisville, Kentucky, in the USA and joined the German band Scorpions in 1996. He was fired in 2016 because of alcohol problems.

The musician even spoke about his health problem and commented in 2022 that he had not yet managed to completely quit alcohol.

In addition to the Scorpions, he was also a member of the band Kingdom Come, which became famous in the 1980s, and toured with groups such as KrunK, Montrose, Wild Horses and Buster Brown.

He also became known for appearing on the reality show “ExWives of Rock” in 2012. Kottak was married to Athena, Tommy Lee's sister, between 1996 and 2010. The two had a son, Matthew.
