Gill and James Morrison had two daughters
Unfortunately, the year 2024 began with a very serious personal blow for 39-year-old singer James Morrison. The artist's partner, Gill Catchpole, 45, was found dead at his home in Whitminster, Gloucestershire, on January 5, just a day after the artist posted a picture of himself in the recording studio announcing new music. A terrible loss that has reportedly devastated the artist as the couple had been together for a lifetime. They met when he was 17 and had two daughters together., Elsie, 15, and Ada, 5. He had spoken of his partner as “his heroine” on many occasions and called her story “a fairy tale”. Additionally, one of her albums, “Stronger Than You Know,” was inspired by Gill’s strength following the premature birth of her youngest daughter.
Gill ran a catering business and a café. In 2023, he expressed his excitement on his social profiles for starting these initiatives after a kidney transplant. In addition, a few days before the news of his death, he shared that he was looking for a new home for his family. Sources close to the family conclude that the circumstances of his death were suspicious. “Gill was found dead at her home in Whitminster on Friday. James is devastated and receives the support of his family. “He is trying to be there for his daughters but has asked that the family be allowed to mourn this loss privately.”
The singer, who rose to fame in 2006 and won a Brit Award in 2007, took a career break when he was in one of his most successful moments. In 2010, he lost his father due to liver damage caused by his alcohol problems. A personal blow, added to by the deaths of his brother Alexis and his nephew in just three years Callum.
