James Tupper denied guardianship of Atlas amid inheritance dispute with Anne Heche’s son Homer

A California judge has denied James Tupper’s application to be appointed his son’s barrister.

According to Page Six documents, the court found that Tupper – who shares Atlas with Anne Heche – had not presented enough evidence to prevent Homer Laffoon from becoming his half-brother’s legal guardian.

Following the verdict, Laffoon’s attorney, Bryan L. Phipps, told Page Six in a written statement, “We are pleased – but not surprised – by the court’s decision this morning to deny James’ application to be appointed coroner for Atlas. We look forward to the court deciding Homer’s application at the next hearing, and in the meantime, Homer will continue to diligently administer the estate in accordance with his powers as special administrator.”

The next court hearing will take place on November 30, 2022.
