Jamie Lee Curtis has opened up about not wanting to ‘hide’ her body in her new movie ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’.

Well, speaking about her image in the film in an Instagram post, Jamie wrote: “There is an industry in the world – billion dollar, trillion dollar – industry of hiding things.”

“Concealers. Means for correction of a figure. Fillers. Procedures. Cloth. Hair accessories. Hair products. All to hide the reality of who we are.”

Jamie continued: “My instruction to everyone was: I don’t want to hide anything. I’ve been pulling in my belly since I was 11 when you become aware of boys and bodies and jeans are very tight. ”

“I deliberately decided to refuse and release all my muscles that I strained to hide reality. This was my goal. I have never felt more free, creative and physical,” she concluded.

Co-director Daniel Scheinert also confirmed Jamie’s claims, explaining, “Everyone thinks her belly in the film is fake, but it’s actually her real belly. She was grateful that she was allowed to just talk.”

This isn’t the first time Jamie has spoken out about beauty standards – back in October, she said, “I tried plastic surgery and it didn’t work. Because of that, I’m addicted to Vicodin… The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering, and what we’re doing to customize our Zoom looks, is erasing the beauty of generations.”

And one person who was touched by Jamie’s words was none other than Riverdale star Lili Reinhart, who thanked Jamie and shared what the director once told her to “soak up [her] stomach”:

Well, Hollywood has a hell of a long way to go in body acceptance (to put it mildly) – but at least established actors are using their platforms to speak up.

“Everything Anywhere, All At Once” is in theaters now!
