JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The first full moon of 2024 will light up the night sky on Thursday.
On Thursday, January 25, sky watchers can look into the night sky and witness January's full moon, known as the “Wolf Moon.”
According to NASA, January's full moon is known as the Wolf Moon because “wolf packs were heard howling outside the villages amid the cold and deep snows of winter.”

The Old Farmer's Almanac said the moon will reach its peak on Thursday at 12:54 p.m. EST.
The moon will rise on the northeastern horizon around sunset. According to the moon phase, the golden hour on Thursday will be between 7:20 a.m. and 7:57 a.m. and between 5:21 p.m. and 5:56 p.m.
