New problems for Boeing? A flight operated by Japanese airline All Nippon Airways was forced to turn back this Saturday after a crack was found in the cockpit of a Boeing 737-800, Portal reports. The crack was found in the outer part of the windows surrounding the cockpit, the media said.
In fact, on the air traffic monitoring site FlightAware, we can read that Flight 1182, which took off from Chitose Airport in Japan at 10:47 a.m. local time (2:47 a.m. in France) this Saturday, turned around and landed back in Chitose at 12:09 p.m
The incident caused no injuries among the 59 passengers and six crew members, an airline spokesman said. “The tear did not affect the control or pressurization of the flight,” it clarified.
Boeing under attack
Boeing is under fire after the door on one of its 737 MAX 9 planes – a different model than the one identified in Japan – came loose while flying in the US. The plane had to land urgently and no one was injured, but several passengers filed a complaint against the manufacturer, admitting a “mistake.” The US Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority (FAA) announced on Friday that all 737 MAX 9 aircraft must remain grounded until Boeing provides further data.
This Boeing model has suffered numerous incidents in recent years, including two crashes and 346 fatalities in 2018 and 2019.
