Jason Aldean says he feels ‘much better’ after ending Connecticut concert early due to ‘heat exhaustion’

CNN –

Country singer Jason Aldean says he is on the mend after suffering a heat-related medical incident during his concert at Connecticut’s XFinity Theater last night, forcing the show to end early.

“Today a lot of people reached out to me after finding out what happened at the show last night,” Aldean said in a video posted to his Instagram story on Sunday, before thanking those who did had checked in.

“I’m fine,” he said.

He added he believed he suffered “a combination of dehydration and heat exhaustion,” but didn’t say he suffered heat stroke, adding, “I don’t think it was quite that serious.”

Aldean said he received two IVs after the incident.

“Last night at the show was pretty intense – anyone who was at the show knows how hot it was,” he said, adding, “I tried to get as much time off the show as possible, and in the end it was just like this: I knew it wasn’t going to happen and I was just trying to get off the stage and figure out what was going on.”

He then thanked his fans for coming to the show, saying during the first week of his Highway Desperado tour, “Obviously I didn’t want the show to end like that.”

The venue released a statement on its verified Facebook page on Sunday morning, saying Aldean’s show was being rescheduled to a later date, and an Aldean representative confirmed “he’s fine now.”

“We’ll come back and make it up to you,” Aldean promised in his Instagram video, adding, “I’m much better,” and confirming he’ll still be performing his show in Saratoga Springs on Sunday.
