Originally selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft from Cincinnati, Kelsey has developed into the NFL’s top center and one of the most beloved players in franchise history.
An Eagles nominee for the 2021 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, Kelsey has also earned All-Pro honors for the fourth time and Pro Bowl honors for the fifth time in his Hall of Fame-worthy career.
The iron man of all NFL centers, Kelsey will have a chance to extend his streak of 122 consecutive regular season games. No Eagles center has started so many consecutive games since the 1970 merger. He is the first center for any team to start at least 100 straight games since Chris Myers from 2007 to 2014 (123 games). If Kelce plays more than 10 regular season games next season, he will set a new franchise record for a hitter (now 159).
As team captain, Kelsey led the NFL’s highest-scoring rushing offense as the Eagles averaged nearly 160 yards per game and 25 touchdowns on the ground last season.
Kelce’s value to the Eagles goes beyond the playing field. Kelsey, who delivered the greatest championship parade speech, has influenced several non-profits in and around Philadelphia. Last summer, Kelsey served drinks as a guest bartender in Sea Isle City, New Jersey to raise money for the Eagles Autism Challenge. Fans flocked to the Jersey Shore to support Kelsey and together they raised $100,000 for a cause very personal to him and his wife Kylie.
To celebrate Kelsey’s return to the Eagles, fans can register for the fifth annual Eagles Autism Challenge on May 21st and save 50% on signup using a code. Kielce22.
