Jason Manford reveals his beloved grandmother Leah, 99, has been hospitalized
Jason Manford has announced that his grandmother Leah has been hospitalized.
The 41-year-old comedian took to Instagram on Tuesday night to share a snap of his grandma’s hospital bracelet, telling his followers that even at the age of 99 she is an “absolute soldier”.
Jason added that he was due to fly away on vacation just hours before, but after his grandmother’s health issue, he’s spending the night with her in the ER.
In its post, the comic wrote: “Packed for vacation 3 hours ago and now in Wythenshawe A&E with Nana Manford! The staff was amazing and at 99 she is an absolute soldier! Come on Nana, we have to get to 100!’
The Starstruck judge previously shared a heartwarming video of Leah listening to his album for the first time in 2017, telling her, “I did that for you.”

Many of Jason’s followers commented on his post with well wishes for Leah, with Carol Vorderman writing, “Come on Nana Manford.”
Kym Marsh also posted: “Awwww hope she’s ok love x,” while Judi Love added: “Sending love hun xx”
Tamzin Outhwaite also commented, “Sending you love and strength.”
Jason previously shared a sweet video of his grandmother listening to his album A Different Stage, with Leah wiping away tears.
He captioned the post, “Finally to my grandfather and my nana Manford — Charlie and Leah — who played so many old songs and tunes from musicals at their house every Sunday that it’s ingrained in my own taste in music to this day.”
The video shows the pair singing along to Leah’s favorite song, his cover of Perry Como’s 1970 hit It’s Impossible.
As Leah wipes her eyes, Jason is heard saying, “That’s why I make music, to make older ladies cry.”
Jason will resume his role as a judge on ITV1’s Starstruck, which returns to screens on Saturday with new signing Shania Twain.

The comic, which previously told Web, Shania doesn’t hold back from sharing showbiz anecdotes and sharing names like Sam Smith, Lionel Richie and Taylor Swift during series two of The Saturday Night Show.
He said: “I sat right next to Shania Twain, which was just amazing. She is a legend. She brings knowledge and a sense of fun to the table, but it has to feel like an off night for her in a way when she’s performing due to the pressure she’s under.
“She’s there for a laugh – she gets paid, but she’s there because it’s fun. She knows everyone.
“She talks about Lionel Richie and Sam Smith and Taylor Swift like I’m talking about Dave or Steve at the gym. She doesn’t care – it’s just her world.”
