La Libertad Avanza candidate Javier Milei received more than 55 percent of the vote in the second round of parliamentary elections today and will be the next president of Argentina.

According to preliminary data, with 93.39 percent of votes counted, Milei obtained 13 million 688 thousand 637 votes (55.82), while the representative of the Unión por la Patria, Sergio Massa, received the support of 10 million 832 thousand 933 citizens (44 ,17) recorded. .

In a speech given by Complex C in this capital, Massa announced that he congratulated his opponent, pointing out that it was a very long and difficult election campaign and that at some point it had harsh undertones that I hope will last forever be abandoned.

In addition, he pointed out that he had raised with Milei and President Alberto Fernández the need to set up liaison and transition mechanisms for a democratic replacement tomorrow, so that in the next 19 days Argentines do not have any doubts or uncertainties regarding the normal economic, social, political and institutional situation.

The citizens chose a different path and the responsibility to ensure certainty and guarantees about the functioning of the country lies with the new president. “We hope he does,” he said.

On the other hand, he emphasized the value of democratic coexistence and respect for others and thanked for the support of trade unions, social organizations and civil society.
