Jax Taylor insists his split from Brittany Cartwright is “not a divorce.”
“We're together. “We're living in our house right now,” Taylor tells Page Six as she leaves a gym on Thursday night – just hours after Cartwright announced they were “taking some time off.”
Cartwright previously revealed that she and Taylor have been living under separate roofs since the split, but he says things have already moved pretty quickly.
“She was in a house for a while, but now she’s back.”

The couple were seen living apart days before announcing their split, when Taylor was photographed visiting Cartwright at her apparent new residence in Sherman Oaks, California, on Monday. They share a house in Valley Village.
Taylor, who is not wearing his wedding ring, adds that they are trying to “figure out” their next steps and that their split is “very fresh and new.”
“It’s not evil or mean,” the 44-year-old assures us. “It's just two people whose marriage is now reaching the 10-year mark.”

“We're just spending some time apart and just trying to reevaluate our situation,” he continued. “We have a child involved and we just want to do what’s best for our child.”
Taylor and Cartwright, 35, walked down the aisle in June 2019 after dating for four years. Their relationship was documented on “Vanderpump Rules.”
They welcomed their son Cruz Michael Cauchi into the world in April 2022.

The mother of one opened up about their split on her and Taylor's podcast, “When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany,” on Thursday.
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I had a particularly hard year last year,” she reflected.
“Jax and I are taking some time off and I've made the decision to move to a different home to make some space for my mental health.”

“I take things one day at a time,” Cartwright continued. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mother for Cruz.”
She did not reveal what led to their separation.
Taylor and Cartwright were announced in January as part of the “Vanderpump Rules” spin-off series titled “The Valley.”

Amid fan speculation that their split was a publicity stunt, a rep told Page Six exclusively that it was “certainly not PR-related in any way.”
The estranged couple stepped away from the Bravo cameras in 2020, making “The Valley” their first reality show in several years.
They previously starred in their own spin-off, Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky.
