Jean-Claude Van Damme knows how to be strict but fair with himself.
During a recent interview with the New York Post, the Belgian action star recalled his brief appearance in an episode of the famous American sitcom Friends.
“My game is so bad. I look like a ham. (…) It’s like I’m ashamed. So I was on set and these girls are kissing me and kissing me on the lips. I didn’t know what to do, eh? It was strange. They were very nice,” the 63-year-old actor admitted.
Jean-Claude Van Damme appeared in the 1996 episode The One After the Super Bowl: Part 2, playing himself. In this episode, Monica (Courteney Cox) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) fight over the actor because they both have a crush on him.
“I didn’t know much about the series. When I was there I saw these two beautiful girls and they told me it was the hottest show in the world. So I was very happy, recalls Jean-Claude. And my agent said to me, “You have to do an episode with them. So you’re going to play this guy.” »
According to the New York Post, the Bloodsport star then reenacted his position in the episode. “Oh, but it was (my position) on the wall,” he joked. I was so into “Friends.” “Hey, girls. How are you?” “
The actor and producer then noted that his experience on the sitcom, while embarrassing, was a “good memory.”
“They were very open because they did the show every day. “For them, I am entering a place where everything works like an engine with very well-established mechanics,” he explained. It was amazing. »
