“My nine-year relationship ended earlier this year and I’ve been working through that in addition to supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult.
“The boys and I recently moved home to a new area and I spend most of my time alone as the boys obviously have their own things going on.
Difficulties: The couple tied the knot in September 2018 but had some issues in late 2019 when Jeff admitted they were working on their issues
“I know time is a gift”: Jeff was very open and honest with his words
“There have been constant changes this year and I’m good at adapting, but the combination of things has let me down at times.
“To be honest, I’ve never felt so lonely. Can we push Christmas back a few months?!’
He said: “I have a lot of great friends and I know they’re a phone call away, but sometimes I find it hard to admit I’m struggling.

In June 2020, Jeff had said his marriage was stronger than ever after they hit a rocky patch before the pandemic and he was spotted without his wedding ring.
But Jeff had said the pair were back because they had been spending more time together and HELLO! Magazine that they were able to “pause and reset” their marriage.
He explained at the time: “Now we’re a million times better because we’ve taken the time to invest in ourselves.
“I’m so proud that we’ve both gotten to the point where things are more straightforward and simpler and easier than they’ve ever been between us.
“We’re stronger for the two months we’ve spent together, with time to just focus on each other. Kate and I had a chance to pause and reset.”
Kate added: “For us, we’ve realized day by day how much we love each other’s company. Marriage isn’t always easy, and our struggles have often stemmed from not seeing each other. Now we are stronger than ever.”
Jeff went on to explain that he’s a “better” person when Kate is around and marveled at how much they were able to accomplish through their collaboration, including renovating their home.
“I appreciate all couples need their space, but I really feel better when Kate is around. I enjoy their company and there is something special about the team we form.
“We like to get things done, roll up our sleeves and it’s no coincidence that the house has been getting bundles since lockdown.”
The year before, media personality Jeff spoke about concerns he had with his marriage.
He told Web at the time: “When you’re married you feel more comfortable but life doesn’t feel much different because Kate has a wonderful career in PR where she works very hard and long hours…
“So it’s still just me and the boys at home a fair bit. I am not sure if we will have children. I’m just as happy whether we do or not, and I’m content to be patient and let Kate figure it all out.
