After rumors about an alleged romance with Johnny Depp, “Wandinha” star Jenna Ortega spoke out. According to the NME website, the actress called the rumor “ridiculous” and clarified that she has no connection to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.
The conversation about the relationship between Ortega and Depp came to light after a publication on the celebrity gossip account “Deuxmoi”. In the note, an anonymous witness claimed to have seen the two actors together in Shoreditch, east London, possibly working on director Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice sequel.

The rumors then gained momentum, with netizens pointing out that the connection between Depp and Ortega would be romantic. Given the fallout, Jenna decided to speak out and took to Instagram to put an end to the rumors.
“This is so ridiculous I can’t even laugh,” the young woman wrote. “I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone,” he added. The post was not available on social media for long and was deleted shortly afterwards.

In a statement to NME, a representative for Depp also denied the dating rumors, as well as speculation that he could play a role alongside Ortega in Burton’s next film.
“Mr Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms… Ortega. He never met her or spoke to her. He is not involved in any projects with her and has no plans to do so. “He is shocked by these unfounded and malicious rumors aimed at damaging his reputation and career,” the star’s team said.

Difficulties with fame and haters
In June, Ortega spoke about how he deals with “toxic” and “manipulative” haters on social media. In a conversation with Elle Fanning for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Jenna became emotional as she discussed the impact some online comments have had on her.
Ortega further explained that while she tries to spread her humor on web platforms, she is very careful with her posts as she doesn’t want people to misinterpret them. “What social media does to everyone our age is a comparison game. This influences the mentality of the movement. “It’s very manipulative,” he complained.
The actress also pointed out that since becoming famous after “Wandinha” she has experienced even more hate on the internet. “They recognize your vulnerability and twist it in ways you don’t always expect. It’s so strange. Sorry, I didn’t mean to do that. It’s so difficult to keep your balance. Because how can you be honest without endangering your own health and safety? “It’s very easy to feel like you’re almost losing control,” she admitted through tears. Watch the full conversation:
