During an interview with diversity Alongside Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston spoke about the unexpected death of Matthew Perry, which occurred on October 28 at the age of 54.

“As he said, he hoped to be remembered,” the 54-year-old “Friends” star began. “He was happy. He was in good health. He had quit smoking. He was getting back in shape. He was doing well, that's all I know.”

The Morning Show actress opened up about their text exchange the morning Matthew Perry died. “I literally texted him that morning, holy Matty,” she recalls. “He wasn’t in any pain. He had no problems. He was happy.”

Reese Witherspoon added, “It's important for people to know.”

“That’s right,” Jennifer Aniston replied. “I want people to know that he was really healthy and took care of himself. He was looking for a solution. He worked very hard. He had a really hard time. I miss him much. We all miss him. He made us laugh a lot.”

Later, Jennifer Aniston commented on the networks about the reaction of Internet users to the sudden death of Matthew Perry. “It’s so beautiful,” she said. “I hope he knows he was loved in ways he never could have imagined.”

The 17-year-old actor, who struggled throughout his life with addiction to alcohol and painkillers, was found lifeless in his Los Angeles hot tub. The cause of Matthew Perry's death has not yet been determined.
