The 49-year-old actress is set to play a woodworker in her next project, so she decided to put her training into action and use the final product as a birthday present for her friend Reese Witherspoon.

The project is being developed by Reese’s Hello Sunshine production company, and Jen tagged both in her post, along with her “patient” woodworking teacher, custom furniture maker Aaron Hauser.

Then she learns how to use the spindle and a chisel to shape the bowl. Then she grinds and oils it.
