Jennifer Lawrence was set to play Elizabeth Holmes on the big screen, but Amanda Seyfried ruined those plans.

The 32-year-old two-time Oscar winner told the New York Times that the “amazing” Emmy-winning portrayal of Theranos’ infamous CEO was the reason the 36-year-old dropped out of the film.

Jennifer was set to play Holmes in a film written, produced and directed by Don’t Look Up’s Adam McKay, which will be an adaptation of Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley.

She later quit the film and explained to the newspaper, citing Amanda’s appearance in the Hulu limited series The Dropout.

Jennifer said: “I thought she was great. I said, “Yeah, we don’t have to repeat that.” She did.’

Of Seyfried's performance as Holmes in The Dropout, Jennifer said,

The actress was in tears as she accepted the credit for portraying Holmes, who founded Theranos in the true story-based miniseries that documented the disgraced biotechnology company.

She lit up the countdown clock that appeared with each acceptance speech, as she said: “It’s a really nice feeling counting me down, it’s a really nice feeling.

It wasn’t a box office bomb, however, as the $100+ million budget sci-fi film grossed $100 million in the US and Canada and $203.1 million in other territories, which is what a worldwide total of US$303.1 million.

Passengers was a sci-fi romance film about Jennifer and Chris as two travelers on a spaceship who are accidentally awakened from hibernation 90 years early.

But when it turns out that all is not well with the ship, the two fight for their lives.

Directed by Morten Tyldum, the film featured an impressive cast alongside Jennifer and Chris, as it also starred Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Andy Garcia, Aurora Perrineau, Kara Flowers and Vince Foster.

It was a joyful time in Jennifer’s life as she gave birth to her first child with husband Cooke Maroney in February.
