Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are engaged – again!
Lopez announced the engagement in a short video via her fan newsletter On The JLo, in which she stares at a green-hued diamond ring.
“You’re perfect,” Lopez says in a voiceover while romantic music plays
Lopez teased the “exciting and special” announcement on Facebook early Friday night.
Sources close to the singer say the video is actually an engagement announcement.
Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, sparked engagement rumors earlier this week when she was photographed shopping in LA with her 14-year-old daughter Emme with a ring on her marital finger.

Insiders close to Affleck recently told Page Six they wouldn’t be shocked if he’d proposed again.
The couple first began dating in 2002 and were quickly dubbed “Bennifer” by fans and the media. The two certainly didn’t shy away from showing their love for one another back then, including in PDA-loaded scenes from Lopez’s music video “Jenny From the Block.”

In November of the same year, Affleck proposed to Lopez a 6.1 carat pink diamond by Harry Winston. The massive sparkler is said to have cost $2.5 million.
Lopez addressed her first engagement during a meeting with Diane Sawyer in the 2000s, where she described her fiancé as “brilliantly smart, loving, charming, and loving.”

She went on to call her stunning ring “the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen.”
Unfortunately, the massive media attention led to the couple postponing and eventually calling off their 2003 wedding.

“Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date,” the couple said in a joint statement. “When we seriously considered hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ in three different locations, we realized something was wrong.”
The statement continued, “We were beginning to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives might be compromised. We felt that a joyful and holy day for us, our families and our friends could be spoiled.”

Lopez called off their engagement in early 2004 and was married to singer Marc Anthony in June of that year. The couple welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008.
Meanwhile, Affleck moved on with Jennifer Garner. He married the actress in 2005 and welcomed three children together: daughters Violet and Seraphina and son Samuel.

However, both marriages ended in divorce when Lopez embarked on another whirlwind romance with Alex Rodriguez in 2017.
For his part, Affleck was linked to a number of women, including “Knives Out” star Ana De Armas, until their split in January 2021.

Shortly after Lopez’s split from A-Rod, Affleck quickly swooped in and reconnected with the singer. The couple – who just lost $50 million on a Bel Air mansion – have been going strong ever since.
“I don’t think anyone was more surprised than we were,” the Marry Me star admitted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February. “You never imagined that something like this could happen. It’s a beautiful thing.”
