Jennifer Lopez is known for making it big. The singer has just revealed on her social networks that her next work, That’s me now, is accompanied by a film inspired by his music. Both will be released on February 16, 2024.
Jennifer Lopez promised a “complete music experience” and that’s exactly what she’ll be giving her admirers. Not only does she offer a first studio album in nearly a decade – marking the 20th anniversary of the CD This Is Me… Then – but she also just revealed the first images from her musical film, which will air on Prime Video.
We see a sequence of scenes in which the singer follows choreographies, is accompanied by dancers and dressed in costumes from all eras. Each excerpt takes us into its own universe. “When I was little and people asked me what I wanted to do, I answered that I wanted to… be in love,” she says at the beginning of the clip.
Director Dave Meyers described this musical film as “an immersive, genre-defining cinematic experience” and will be available in more than 240 countries.
According to Rolling Stone magazine, it is also described as “an extravagant visual and aural feast with impressive choreography, star performances, costumes, sets and imagery worthy of a blockbuster.”
A year ago, Lopez announced the release of a new project with a video posted to her social media. The diva had the cover of her 2002 album This Is Me… Then, then we saw her taking off her hat to show what she is like in 2022 by saying, “It’s me… now!”
The words “The Musical Experience 2023” appear on the screen to end the short clip.
This Is Me…Then was one of Lopez’s most successful albums and included songs such as the iconic Jenny From the Block, I’m Glad and All I Have featuring LL Cool J.
- The first musical excerpt, Can not get enough, will be released on January 10, 2024 and is available for pre-recording starting today.
