“Barbie is all about empowerment. “It’s about the magic of the stories we tell ourselves, about our inner little girl imaginary play fantasies turning into our real big girl dreams, and the knowledge that we can be whoever we want to be,” began Lopez.

“It doesn’t matter if we’re a girl from the Bronx via Puerto Rico, Los Angeles via Honduras, or Mattel via the magical Pink Box.”

She then said, “There is no one who embodies this better on and off screen than my friend America Ferrera!”

The coach model added, “She has been a great inspiration as we continue to strengthen the Latin American community.” She shows up when we need her – and motivates us to use our voice to advocate for a better world. I'm happy to be someone who can tell her, “Thank you for everything you do.”

Ferrera told Jennifer, “There was no path before you, and everything you did and every step you paved is still permission in every way for me and for so many of us.”
