Jennifer Lopez reveals she offered Khloe Kardashian a role in her film This Is Me… Now… but the reality star declined

Jennifer Lopez was in the press to promote her new musical companion film This Is Me… Now and revealed that Khloe Kardashian had turned down a role.

Lopez, 54, has been doing press work for her music film, a companion film to the album of the same name, both of which will be released on February 16th.

She revealed that she had asked several Hollywood stars for roles, but some declined, including Khloe Kardashian.

There is no indication of what role the 39-year-old may have played in the film, and Khloe has neither spoken nor posted publicly about the role.

The news also comes as Lopez recently revealed that she put up her own money to finance the film. A new article from Variety reveals that she spent over $20 million.

As for Kardashian and others turning down roles in the film, she admitted that many don't like putting themselves out there, even someone from perhaps the most photographed family in the world: The Kardashians.

“People are afraid to be out there. I get it. It took a long time. I am scared. “But I don’t act like I’m scared — that’s the secret to my whole damn career,” Lopez admitted.

If Khloe had taken a role in the film, it would have been her first acting role in almost a decade, even though Khloe played herself in all of her roles.

She guest-starred as herself in a 2011 episode of NBC's short-lived series Law & Order: Los Angeles, a 2013 episode of BET's Real Husbands of Hollywood, and a 2014 episode of USA Network's Royal Pains.

She also appeared in a short film “Hpnotiq Sparkle” in 2014 and in the miniseries “For SKIMS” in 2019 for her sister Kim Kardashian's shapewear line.

Lopez also revealed that she had invested $20 million of her own money to produce not only the album This Is Me… Now, but also the film This Is Me… Now: A Love Story and finally the documentary to finance The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

Both the album and the accompanying musical film will be released on February 16th, and the documentary will be released on February 27th.

Lopez recorded the album in a home theater, inviting musicians to his home and showing them the love letters Affleck wrote to her, which he called “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”

Lopez's longtime producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas recalled when JLo told her she would spend $20 million of her reported $400 million net worth on the project.

“I'm in New York and she says, 'I think I'm going to finance this myself.' I was like, 'Wait, what?'” Goldsmith-Thomas recalls.

“I don't even know what it is. What are you doing?” I was worried. “Why are you sharing your story? It's too personal. Stop.” “It made me uncomfortable for her,” she admitted.

Goldsmith-Thomas admitted that she was never completely comfortable with the project, adding that she was “petrified the whole time,” but now she understands.

“I was afraid that she was sharing her journey and it would seem like she was saying, 'Here's my journey from Ben to Ben.' And that's not the point. It's about: “This is what I've been going through for the last 20 years, and I kept running into the same wall and blaming the wall until I started looking at myself,” Goldsmith-Thomas said.
