Jennifer Lopez has “confused” her fans after she shared a new Instagram video in which she opened up about her relationship with alcohol and said she enjoyed the “occasional cocktail” but didn’t get ripped off.
The 53-year-old singer posted a lengthy clip on Instagram on Monday, in which she defended herself against critics who slammed her decision to launch her Delola alcohol brand, despite previously admitting that she doesn’t drink alcohol.
JLo looked glamorous as usual in a sleeveless camel jumpsuit with an oversized collar and a zip-up front.
The mother-of-two wore oversized sunglasses and hoop earrings, along with a gold personalized necklace, while addressing her 248million followers.

“So I’m on my way to sneak out to get some Delola,” Jennifer began in the video.
“We have a few people coming over over the bank holiday weekend and I realized we don’t have any.” I thought we would, but we don’t. “So I go to the store and get some, hopefully they have them there,” she laughed.
Sitting in the passenger seat of the moving vehicle, Jennifer continued, “I’m really excited, I love holiday weekends, I love spending time with family and friends and having a little cocktail.”
“I know a lot of people have been like, ‘Oh, she doesn’t even drink, what does she do with a cocktail?’ And to be honest, that was true for a long time, I wasn’t drinking.
“A few years ago, as you can see from several photos of me over the last 10, maybe 15 years, I used to have a cocktail now and then.
“I enjoy the occasional cocktail. I drink responsibly, I don’t drink to get fucked up. “I drink to be social, to have a good time and just to relax and unwind a bit, but always in a responsible way,” she revealed.
“I have to tell you, I’ve tried a lot of different things, cocktails, I used to like White Russians, I liked Rosé, but I never found anything I really loved, and like everything else in my life, I have it myself created.’
The “On The Floor” hitmaker then filmed herself going to a local liquor store and was delighted to find a few bottles of Delola.

Thrilled when they realized who she was, the shopkeepers and other customers quickly asked to be photographed and even started playing her music.
However, some of Jennifer’s Instagram followers were less than impressed with the video as her husband Ben Affleck is sober.
In the comments section, one person claimed, “It’s so embarrassing when she talks about drinking responsibly and not getting ripped off for knowing her husband.” [suffered] under alcoholism for years.’
Another person wrote, ‘I’m just confused that she’s talking about alcohol and cocktails while her husband is an alcoholic…who is said to be in recovery?’ Makes no sense at all and I find it very difficult to understand.’
A third person commented, “It’s so sad her husband doesn’t drink, why does she care to tell us?” Who cares? Next she’ll be selling her cocktail so weird and he doesn’t need to either.’
Ben’s past: Some of Jennifer’s followers were “confused” by her latest venture because her husband Ben Affleck has struggled with alcoholism in the past

Feelings of thirst: Jennifer started developing the drinks with her partners back in 2020 and founded the company in April
A fourth follower said, “Hmmm I’m so confused by this video… and how does that help Ben?” and a fifth asked, “Why don’t you respect your husband’s sobriety?”
Others were quick to jump to Jennifer’s defense, as one person hit back, “Why would she have to pay for her past or current husband?” Is his decision. She supports him and makes sure he is under control. But again, it is NOT their responsibility (sic).
“If she wants to drink occasionally or whenever she wants, she wants her same stuff.” “It’s about balance,” they added.
“Her husband’s alcoholism has nothing to do with her.” “His sobriety doesn’t depend on her or anyone else,” scolded another.
Ben, 50, has been to rehab a number of times over the years and has been open about his struggles with alcoholism.
In 2001, he was hospitalized for his addiction and maintained his sobriety for “a couple of years” afterward.

In the years that followed, he refused to discuss his alcoholism at length, later describing it as a period when he “drank relatively normally.”
The Good Will Hunting actor returned to inpatient treatment in 2017 and again in 2018 after a publicly documented relapse and procedure.
The following year, Ben was again treated as an outpatient, but in late 2019 he was filmed tripping on a Los Angeles street.
The next day, he admitted he had a brief “slip” after more than a year of sobriety, and later described the incident as “embarrassing.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer previously told InStyle that she believes alcohol “ruins the skin.”
Speaking to UsWeekly in 2016, Jennifer credited her alcohol-free lifestyle as one of the ultimate secrets to looking so young: “I don’t drink, I smoke, I don’t drink caffeine. It really damages your skin as you age.”
