Marvel actor Jeremy Renner was flown to hospital on Sunday after the safety device on his Snow Cat plow failed, causing it to roll over one of his legs.
Renner was alone at the time, trying to clear a way out of his Lake Tahoe home.
According to TMZ, he lost a significant amount of blood as a result of the injury.
The 51-year-old is in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
Police were called to his palatial home just after 9am on Sunday. He was flown from the area at 9.50am, by which time a neighbor who is also a doctor had rushed to his aid and had a tourniquet strapped to his injured leg.

A neighbor who is a doctor rushed to help after learning of the accident and strapped a tourniquet to his leg before the ambulance arrived.
He lost a significant amount of blood before being flown from the area.
The actor’s representatives confirmed yesterday that his family was with him at the hospital.
“We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition and has sustained injuries after a weather related accident while snow plowing earlier this morning.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office previously said in a statement, “At approximately 9:00 a.m. on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of the Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.
“Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for Mr. Jeremy Renner’s medical transport via care flight to a local hospital.
‘Mr. Renner was the only person involved in the incident.
“The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Renner shares a daughter with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco.
