Jessica Simpson humorously revealed that she was duped by a Britney Spears fan who asked for an autograph, sharing the moment on her Instagram page on Saturday.
The 43-year-old TV personality, who recently showed off her slim figure after denying taking the weight-loss drug Ozempic, moved past the mix-up and still paused for a brief moment with the excited fan.
In the caption, the singer wrote: “The face when someone asks you for your autograph in the mall parking lot but expects you to sign it, Britney Spears.”
In the picture, Simpson and the fan had a shocked expression on their faces as they stood outside with the sun shining on them.
Spears notably compared herself to Jessica in late December last year when she shared a throwback photo of herself. “Why do I look EXACTLY like Jessica Simpson???” “Also my face looks so pale,” the actor wrote.

One fan wrote: “She posted a photo of herself a while ago and noticed she looked just like you! She really did!” while another typed: “Both beautiful queens!”
Some followers pointed to Britney’s recent videos in which she appeared with knives – which she has since described as “fake.” A welfare check was recently carried out on the performer as a result of the clips – which she later described as a “joke”.
She explained that she had recreated a Shakira performance. Last month, the Hips Don’t Like singer notably danced with knives during her performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
“I knew it was you because you didn’t have any knives,” one wrote, while another added: “Hahaha…should have gotten out two knives.”
Another Instagram user asked: “Did you dance with knives or something?” while one typed: “But you have clothes on and don’t carry kitchen knives.”
One said: “Bahahahahahaha can’t be the first time” and suggested that it could be possible that Simpson has been mistaken for Britney several times in the past. “You should do a duet,” one fan suggested.
Another follower added: “I laughed a lot,” while one said: “They don’t look anything like each other though.” One social media user also humorously wrote: “Oops, they did that again.”
