Presenter and comedian Jô Soares, who died in August at the age of 84, left his entire inheritance to his exwife Flavia Soares and the employees of his home.
Flavia confirmed the information to the newspaper O Globo in an interview on Monday. To illustrate Jô’s closeness to the professionals who worked for him, she said that “the one who has been at home the shortest has been at home for more than 20 years”.
The graphic designer was the last person to be married to Jô although the marriage ended in 1998, the two remained close friends until the end of the writer’s life. She married singer Zélia Duncan in a ceremony celebrated last year.
“His final moments were stunning,” Flavia told the newspaper. “The state of sharp awareness and the unexpected total loss of fear of dying was infinitely beautiful.”
The comedian was previously married to actresses Therezinha Millet Austregésilo, with whom he had a son, and Sylvia Bandeira.
Jô’s only son, Rafael Soares, died of brain cancer in 2014 at the age of 50.
