Melissa Rivers opened up about how her late mother Joan Rivers would have responded to the world today, nearly a decade after her death.
The former Fashion Police star, 55, said the legendary comedian had embraced the new weight loss pills dominating the Hollywood scene after several celebs admitted to shedding pounds using Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro.
“Oh, she would have thought Ozempic was the greatest thing since sliced bread,” the TV host told People on Wednesday.
“Her two least favorite things were diet and exercise. So what if she could find a way to avoid both? Great,” she joked.
Melissa also mentioned a trend that Joan would have scoffed at: activewear.

“She wouldn't have chosen sports and people wearing sweatpants everywhere,” she claimed.
“She would say, no, you still get dressed, pull yourself together, put a little lip gloss on and then you go out.”
However, Melissa said her mother “would have been very excited about the body acceptance.”
Joan died on September 4, 2014 at the age of 81 in a New York hospital from complications following a medical procedure.
According to the New York coroner, the star was sedated with propofol before she died from low blood oxygen levels during a procedure to treat voice changes and acid reflux.
The coroner's office reported no apparent medical error and determined the manner of death to be a “therapeutic complication.”
The loss still weighs heavily on Melissa as she was very close to her mother.
“I think about her the most when something ridiculous happens,” Melissa explained. “Many of our phone conversations started with the question, 'Okay, are you ready for this?'”

Despite her mother's absence, Melissa continues to hear her voice and feel her spirit.
“I think about her especially when I'm about to get upset and have to stop and think, 'What would she do in this particular situation?'
“And I can hear her voice saying, 'Oh Melissa, please just stop.' Get over it!'”
