Country singer Joao Carreiro, considered one of the powerful voices of the style, died this Wednesday, March 1st, at the age of 41. The musician underwent an operation to insert a heart valve, but did not survive and died during the procedure. The information was confirmed by the artist's advisers and his wife.

The artist's office released the following statement: “It is with great regret that we announce the death of João Carreiro. For friends and family, the funeral service will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (local time) at the Campo Grande/MS Community Chamber.” Soon afterwards it will be forwarded to Cuiabá/MT.
