João Hadad and Luciana Andrade, Luana Andrade’s friend and mother, spoke about the death of the influencer in an interview with “Fantástico” this Sunday (12). They explained that the 29yearold’s problems with fat accumulation in the knee area were not just a question of aesthetics. On Sunday, the family also confirmed the donation of Luana’s cornea.
According to Hadad, his girlfriend’s lipedema a chronic vascular disease caused her to lose job offers because of the pain she felt. The businessman said Luana informed him about the decision to have liposuction and together they started looking for the most qualified doctors.

“The moment came when the discomfort began to increase. She could no longer do some jobs. So she said, ‘The time has come and I’m going to do it.’ About a year ago, we were researching professionals and doctors to know what surgery looked like,” the former power couple explained.
Hadad added that Luana went through the entire process before liposuction. “She did all the tests she needed to do and arrived on time,” he added. “You have no idea how careful she was,” Luciana continued. “She had a bit of knee fat. And when she looked young, that little fat started bothering her. And she would do things and say, ‘Mom, nothing will take this fat away,'” he recalls.
In addition, the influencer had already undergone two other aesthetic procedures, namely the implantation of silicone implants in her breasts and corrective surgery on her nose. According to the “Fantástico” report, the stage assistant of “Domingo Legal” on SBT would use the operation to make changes to her thighs and stomach.

The surgical procedure began at the appropriate point, but there João noticed something different. “Usually in the middle of the operation they say, ‘Oh, everything’s going well.’ About two hours of surgery [se passaram]and I said, ‘Auntie, let’s go upstairs with me so we can hear the news about Lu.’ And then when we went to the floor, I felt a little strange,” he revealed.
The procedure continued from the abdomen to the lower limbs, where complications arose. According to the São Luiz Itaim Hospital, Luana suffered cardiac arrest after two and a half hours of surgery. “The first thing they did was revive her. They stabilized her and took her straight to the intensive care unit. The operation was completely halted,” Hadad said.
Doctors then subjected the influencer to a series of tests, which revealed a pulmonary embolism. “Shortly afterwards she suffered another cardiac arrest and the situation worsened. “The entire hospital was committed and all the doctors tried to do the best for Luana,” he explained. However, Luana suffered two more cardiac arrests and did not survive.

João Hadad and Luciana Andrade emphasized that they were not suspicious of medical behavior. “We really believe in everything the doctors said back then. It was transparent, secure and there were no questions asked. What happened to us was truly a fatality,” Andrade’s friend explained.
Plastic surgeon Luiz Henrique Benetti Favali only commented on the case in a note. He shared that the operation was carried out in a referral hospital with a qualified team and that the influencer suffered four cardiac arrests due to the embolism. According to the Federal Council of Medicine, Luiz Henrique is up to date with his medical registration and specialization in plastic surgery.
At a certain point in the interview, Hadad confessed to his girlfriend, who had passed away on November 7th. “She was an extraordinary girl. I don’t know if there is a word that can describe who Luana was. “One thing we are sure of is that Luana left in peace,” he said in a choked voice. The two took part in the sixth season of “Power Couple Brasil,” a Record TV reality show, and ended their twoyear relationship last month.

Corneal donation
At the end of the report, Luciana confirmed that the family had approved the donation of her daughter’s corneas. “The ICU doctor came and said, ‘There are already two people there seeing, two teenagers.'” I said, “May these young people be able to see life the way my daughter did.” I did learned from her. “If I am a better person, I learned it from my daughter,” emphasized Luana’s mother.
