Employees put happiness at work first and place more value on it than on salary, despite the rising cost of living.
This is the finding of a recent survey conducted by Événement Carrières – organizer of the Montreal Job and Continuing Education Fair – among 37,000 job seekers. 63% of them prefer “a pleasant and stimulating work environment”, while 52% of those surveyed place more value on salary.
“We are surprised that the labor shortage continues despite the likely difficult economic situation. We are also pleased with the results of the survey. This shows that well-being at work remains an important value for employees,” explained Éric Boutié, Career Event Manager.
Additionally, 86% would be willing to travel to a job fair in person to increase their chances of getting a job.
As labor shortages continue, many employers will be looking to fill more than 20,000 positions during the Montreal Job Fair, which takes place on October 4th and 5th.
