The NFL has not revealed how it will handle Monday night’s game between the Bengals and Bills, which was suspended after safety Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said for the first time since Monday players are “in the dark” about what the league will decide.

He conceded that it might be logistically difficult to continue the game that was halted in the first quarter with the Bengals leading 7-3.

“I think that would just be difficult with timing,” Burrow said of CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan. “I think whatever Buffalo wants to do would be what we want to do as well. We stand behind them 100 percent and support them in whatever they would do in the future.”

The Bengals know they will play the Ravens on Sunday and are hoping for a win to win the AFC North for the second straight season.

“Unfortunate as it is, we have a game to play on Sunday,” Burrow said. “As unusual as this week was, from a football point of view it’s unfortunately the same as always.

“I don’t even really know what to say about that because it’s such a scary and emotional time and the lads have one football game to play on Sunday and it’s our job to go out there and execute the game and play it like that we have to play it to go and win. It is what it is. We discussed as a team what happened and where to go next, and here we are.”

He acknowledged that players had some “side discussions” about whether to play with Hamlin, who is still in critical condition, in week 18.

“I’m sure if you polled the locker room there would be mixed voices about it,” Burrow said of not playing the Ravens. “Personally, I think it’s going to be tough, but there are people who want to play and there are people who don’t want to. Personally, I probably want to play. I think getting back to as normal as possible as soon as possible is my personal way of dealing with things like this. As I said, everyone deals with it differently.”
