Some details about the Kia Niro
“The large Niro family includes three engine types: a hybrid, a rechargeable hybrid with a range of 53 km and three versions of an electric model,” explains Car Guide columnist Antoine Joubert.

The vehicle uses the same platform as the Hyundai Kona. All versions are equipped with a 64.8 kWh battery, allowing a range of 407 km. The single 201 horsepower engine drives the front wheels.
“However, you should know that the basic variant – the premium model – does not have a heat pump, which has a negative impact on autonomy in the cold season,” emphasizes the expert. Prices (all fees included) increase from $47,859 to $55,859. All versions are eligible for grants totaling $12,000.

Antoine’s advice and the rally
This week Antoine talks about places to buy a used vehicle. From the list, a consumer can go to a dealer, a used car dealer, or even an individual. The expert also names the respective advantages and disadvantages.
Some 193 km further on, the 100% electric rally – hosted by Geneviève Tardif and Charles Hamelin – continues on its fourth day at Niagara Falls. The duo passed the Niagara Power Station, a hydroelectric power plant that has existed since 1905. As of 2022, it currently serves as a museum. Next destination: Barrie.
