Joe Rogan on Wednesday railed against how the media acts as a “propaganda department” for its ideological allies to the point of describing the riots as “largely peaceful.”
He and 1980s MTV host and producer Adam Curry discussed how both the American public and media have used the “team” mentality and political ideology to make the country noticeably “tribal,” and posed realizes that the pursuit of truth is lost in the process. They also criticized the phrase “trust science” and the sentiment behind it in American politics.
“It’s also this natural, territorial, tribal instinct that we have to claim land and ideas. We claim ideas and then we shove them down people’s throats,” Rogan said. “Religion has always done that. There are many people who are atheists who don’t consider themselves religious, but you are religious, you act the same way, you just don’t believe in a god. “

He further added: “You still behave in a tribal way where you want other people to think the same way and behave the same way you do. You’re willing to overlook some terrible shit on your side, and you’re willing to overdo some shit on the other side.”
Rogan also criticized the “team” mentality of modern politics, particularly in light of the left-wing unrest that the country has seen in recent years.
“You gotta pretend these people who are setting churches on fire aren’t fucking holes. These people who are setting schools on fire, setting fires to courthouses,” he said.
Rogan directly criticized the way certain news outlets gloss over destructive riots against the police.

CNN GUEST WHO RECOMMENDED THE WORD ‘VIOLENCE’ DOESN’T DESCRIBE ATLANTA RIOT: ‘WHAT A JOKE’
““Mostly peaceful! Oh, it’s mostly peaceful,” Rogan said as he parodied the rhetoric of the liberal media. “I fucking saw someone say that about what happened in Atlanta — they called it mostly peaceful.”
“In the backyard of CNN,” Curry noted.
Rogan then rhetorically addressed the media: “You’re not the bloody propaganda department, you can’t define things in a way that calms people down. That’s not your damn job. When you fool people, you act like a propagandist. It’s not ‘mostly peaceful’ when a car is on fire.”

Curry then recounted Rogan’s past interview with CNN’s senior medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, saying it was inappropriate for the network to suggest Rogan took “horse dewormers” as a COVID treatment.

“What was really revealing is when you were accused of eating horse paste and then you had Sanjay Gupta on and you were like, ‘Why the hell did they lie about that?’ and he couldn’t answer,” Curry said. “He couldn’t process the question.”
