“I saw Barbie. “I can’t believe I saw Barbie,” the 75-year-old star said. It’s just not my generation. I had nothing to do with Barbie dolls. I didn’t know who Allan was. I mean, I can summarize it. She says: “I don’t have a vagina” and at the end: “I’m going to the gynecologist!” That’s what the film is about for me.”
He added: “I mean, there’s a bit of a patriarchy in there, but I missed all that. It just went over my head. But I think Margot Robbie is great.”
Barbie became the highest-grossing film of the year so far and the highest-grossing film ever directed by a woman, grossing over $1 billion worldwide.

In his interview, the horror maestro also commented on the mixed reception to the remake of The Exorcist, The Exorcist: Devotion.
Directed by David Gordon Green, who worked with him on the last Halloween trilogy, the film grossed less than $30 million at the U.S. box office, despite Universal paying $400 million for the rights to the franchise.
It also currently has a 23% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“I love what David did when he did the three Halloweens,” said John Carpenter. I loved #2 (Halloween Kills). I thought it was fabulous. I heard that The Exorcist really wasn’t up to par. This could be a great film. I don’t understand how we could screw this up.”
“The Exorcist: Devotion” is in theaters now.
