John Travolta made his big return to the Oscars stage, and we can’t help but think back to one of the *last* times he was here. Presenting Best Actor with his Pulp Fiction co-stars Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman at the 2022 Academy Awards, John Travolta managed not to mix up the names when Will Smith was announced as the winner.

While on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2015, John revealed that a script change brought him down more than he intended.
“They said, ‘Oh, by the way, we changed Idina’s name to a phonetic spelling, and I said, ‘Wait — what do you mean by that?’ So I go out there and I go to her thing and I say ‘Huh?’ In my mind I’m like, ‘What? What’s that name? I don’t know that name.’ And it was this phonetic spelling and I wasn’t rehearsing it that way,” he said.
A year later, at the 2015 ceremony, Travolta presented Best Original Song with Idina introducing him as Glom Gazingo.
