Betty White championed animals throughout her decades-long career, and her legacy lived on Sunday night when John Travolta’s son Ben adopted the dog, who was brought onstage by Jamie Lee Curtis at the Oscars during White’s moving tribute.
Travolta shared an adorable snap of Ben cradling the cute pup, writing, “Ben adopted this dog from the recent Oscars tribute to Betty White.” He tagged Jamie Lee Curtis and rescue organization Paw Works.
Curtis brought the pup — affectionately dubbed Mac N Cheese — onto the Dolby Theater stage in her arms for the first time at the 94th Academy Awards during the In Memory segment, where she shared a few words about the screen legend and her work for the rescue animal emphasized community.

Travolta proudly stood behind his youngest son in the socially shared post to his nearly four million followers, which received more than 214,000 likes in less than 24 hours after it was posted online.
“On a night of winners and losers, we think Mac N Cheese is the biggest winner of all,” the nonprofit wrote, while sharing the same picture of John and Ben. “We know @BettyWhite lit down last night. Happy life, little lady.’
The Travoltas all smiled while showing off the newest addition to the family, who joins a host of beloved and well-cared for pets that are regularly featured on the Grease star’s Instagram account.
On Sunday night, Jamie shone in a gorgeous Stella McCartney dress as she brought the golden-brown pooch to commemorate the comedian, who died on New Year’s Eve at the age of 99.

“She wasn’t just a golden girl, she was a legend,” Curtis said of White. “She brightened up every room she walked into and put smiles on the faces of everyone who watched her on screen day after day for almost a century.”
